5 In 5 - Tell MEB About It

Five Questions in Five Minutes

1) I love online shopping. I do. I think getting things you need for you and your family at the click of a mouse saves Mom Entrepreneurs, and everyone else, valuable time. (I also think having to pick up a few things or run errands gives us a reason to leave the house occasionally.) This week, I ordered the kids back to school shoes from GloboShoes.com, pajama's and socks from OldNavy.ca, and Backyardigans birthday party supplies from AllThatStuff.net. Do you shop online? What are your favourite sites to order from?

5 Things in 5 Minutes

A quick glimpse into what is happening right now.

This is one of my favourite features of my previous blogs. Basically, when I am at a loss for subject matter, and time, I just blurt out five things in five minutes. You can see why it would be good for me. Let's see what you think.

Road Trip

1. I will be driving through the mountains today. If there was ever a silver lining, that might be it.

2. I have a feeling, as this day goes on, I will be hating my fitness instructor more and more. Sitting in a car all day the day after a tough workout, probably not the best idea.

Five Highlights of a Low Weekend

1. The Little One was a total rock star in the car. Not one whine or complaint about sitting in his seat for the long drive, and no potty accidents.

Just Like Starting Over

1. New computer. Internet back. Thank goodness!

2. Snow. Cold. Wind chill. No thanks!

3. We got a new camera today! We have been waiting for the release of the Nikon D7000, and Paul came home with it this morning. Yay! It is a DSLR that does HD video, too. I am excited to try it out. Waiting for the battery to charge.

4. I made paper this morning. Don't worry, I have not suddenly become super crafty, I was volunteering at the kids school. It is a really fun thing to do...when someone else has set up the buckets of pulpy water, assembled the screens and sponges, and gives you detailed instructions. It was creative and hand-on. I will likely never make paper again. Perhaps I will take a photo of my paper with the new camera.

5. Hey, is there a sand shortage in Calgary that I don't know about??? Or is the city saving it for a giant beach party in the Spring. Cuz I could use a bit more on the roads in my neighbourhood, please.

What Is It About Mondays?

I used to LOVE them. I don't know what happened. Lately, there have been a few weeks that have not had the strongest first day. I am still holding out hope that my affection for this particular weekday will return. In the meantime, all you Monday haters can rest assured I will not be bugging you about how great Mondays are. Five things about today that make it a "Monday."

Five Fairly Random Things

Ugh! I am sick today. It is just a cold, but my husband is out of town, so I am feeling sorry for myself. Thus, this is the best I could do to entertain you.

Hump Day

Reasons I know it is hump day.

1) I just spent five minutes holding my head, trying to think of five things to write. I apologize. I didn't come up with anything.

Starting...Now!

1) I love everything about Christmas! I love shopping for gifts for other people, I love planning family outings to see Christmas lights, I love getting our families together at our house, I love wrapping, and baking, and decorating. I love it all.

2) Whew! I am exhausted and not nearly done yet.

3) I miss having a workplace Christmas party, and workplace slacking off and sharing goodies and Secret Santa gift exchanges.

4) I love having the ability to take 2 weeks off with my kids, or at least schedule meetings and work around swimming and skating and sledding and gingerbread train building.

5) Excuse me, I have some wrapping, swimming, cleaning and train building to do.

Tabs Open on My Browser

A glimpse into my week, through the mirror of Firefox.

1) Calgary West Little League-Even though they don't actually start the season until April, and if it's anything like last year, the first 4 games will be snowed out, we still have to register the Older Boys for Spring baseball in January. Hard to get 9 year olds to commit to a sport 4 months in advance.

Ready, Set, Go!

I have decided I need to start timing these things, so here we go. Setting the timer...

1) I have created a ritual over the past week of having my afternoon tea, a small snack and writing in the blog. I like it. I wonder how long until I get bored and switch it up?

New Things Update

1)Positive Outlook-Some days this is more difficult than others. Remember when we talked about the first ten minutes after you wake up setting the tone for your day? If I get derailed early in the day, I get into a "mood" that can be hard to turn around. And then I just have to live with that "mood" and start fresh the next day. And my family has to live with it, too. Poor husband and kids!

A Trooper, Reader and Traveler

1) Please note: If you, or someone you love, drop a small, white lego clone trooper into a giant bag of shredded white documents, said clone trooper may not return to fight the rebel forces another day.

5 Things In 5 Minutes

1) I can totally see why ancient peoples would have worshiped the sun. On a dark and dreary day, I am dark and dreary. When that sun comes out, it can be bitterly cold, unbearably hot (hard to imagine right now), weekday, weekend, busy or not, whatever the circumstance, I just feel better. I worship the sun.
